Prolific songwriter Albert Hammond performs a rare UK symphonic concert, joined on stage by Germany’s Leipzig Orchestra, led by conductor Andris Nelsons.
Known for writing timeless classics performed by the likes of Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, Leo Sayer, The Hollies and Starship, Albert will be presenting songs from his new record In Symphony, a celebration of his career spanning 50+ years. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, the songs on the album are reimagined versions of hits Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now, One Moment In Time, When I Need You and many others, orchestrated and arranged by Grammy-nominated composer Rob Mathes (Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Jay Z).
With 30 chart-topping hits and combined sales of 360 million, on this album Albert is giving a unique treatment to many of his own singles and ‘taking back’ tracks that have been worldwide hits for others. Far from throwing in the towel on such an epic run as a songwriter and performer, Albert has been taking his symphonic tour all across Europe, and now for the first time gives UK audiences the chance to experience this formidable live event.
