Frazey Ford (The Be Good Tanyas)

+ Sophia Marshall (The HaveNots)

One of the defining features of The Be Good Tanyas is Frazey Ford’s distinctive vocals. David Honigmann said in the Financial Times, ‘As a lead singer, Frazey is poised halfway between folk and soul, paying simultaneous obeisance to Bob Dylan and Otis Redding.’ Her influences run near the surface – you can hear in her songs the combination of soul and folk that fuelled artists like Donny Hathaway and Joni Mitchell – but the stories of her new album Indian Ocean are all her own.

‘[She] has a gorgeous voice and her second solo album, Indian Ocean, showcases her fine phrasing and tone… An enjoyable and soulful album.’ (The Telegraph)
