The British Lebanese Association is proud to present for the first time in London Guy Manoukian performing for one night only with guest artists from The Peace and Prosperity Trust.
Lebanese musician, composer and pianist Guy Manoukian has been a key musical player on the international scene for over a decade. In that time his fusion of oriental themes with modern arrangements has taken him all over the world, selling out concerts in Singapore, Cairo, Dubai, Los Angeles, Yerevan, Beirut and Sydney (the Opera House) and in the US where he has worked with the biggest names in the industry.
Guy Manoukian started playing classical piano at the age of four. He appeared on television when he was six years old and a year later he performed at the Presidential Palace in Lebanon. He started composing music at the age of seven, winning the first competition he entered.
In 2014 to great acclaim, Manoukian released his ground breaking and subsequently chart-topping album Nomad.
This concert is his first ever performance in London. It is supported by the British Lebanese Association.
The British Lebanese Association – The Host
The BLA was established in 1984 to encourage friendship and understanding between the people of Great Britain and Lebanon and to advance and encourage cultural development between the two countries. Today the British Lebanese Association is the most prominent organisation of its type. Our twin aims are to offer our members the opportunity to meet at and enjoy our programme of events and to demonstrate up to the very highest level the determination of our two nations to maintain and to develop vital and important links. The Association itself operates through a series of subcommittees of which the Events Committee, the Music Committee, the Arabic School and the Newsletter Committee are examples. Members are welcome to join these other committees or indeed to offer ideas for forming other committees. Membership is open to all Lebanese and British citizens with an interest in Lebanon.
Peace and Prosperity Trust – Concert Producers
Through the universal language of music and performing arts and by promoting young artists from the Middle East and the Western World, The Peace and Prosperity Trust raises awareness and funds for charitable projects in the Middle East and for its young artists. The Peace and Prosperity Trust is a UK Registered Charity, whose Royal Patron is the HRH The Duke of Gloucester. It was established in 1995 by Founding Trustee Rajai Khouri with the help of H.R.H. Princess Dina Addul-Hamid Al Aoun of Jordan, Mrs. Barbel Albert Abela and a group of Arab, European and American personalities. The Trust has produced many concerts in which its young artists have performed, last of which were at Cadogan Hall, Kensington Palace and the Savoy hotel. Three of the young artists, whom the Trust is promoting, are participating in this concert.
