Islington Choral Society, under Musical Director Michael Bowden, celebrates 40 years of music making with a performance of The Music Makers, Elgar’s masterly setting of O’Shaughnessy’s poem on the power and inspiration of music.

The programme also includes the world premiere of Highbury Fields, commissioned by the choir from Brian Inglis, with words by Charles Hart, to evoke the area where the choir is based.

Founding conductor, Peter J. Williams, returns to conduct Parry’s magnificent setting of Milton’s Blest pair of Sirens, and our regular partners, Camden Chamber Orchestra, in the Prelude to Wagner’s Die Meistersinger.
