- Romance, Op. 85 for viola and orchestra
- Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major, K. 467
- Symphony No. 8
- Rosemary Furniss
- Finghin Collins
- Christopher Warren-Green
LCO’s Concertmaster and Artistic Director Rosemary Furniss will certainly convince you that the combination of viola, Bruch and Romance is more than a match for the popular violin concerto.
Having heard pianist Finghin Collins once, you will want to hear him again. He will undoubtedly be a wonderful soloist for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21, which is one of those pieces that make life worth living.
Sandwiched between the ‘greats’ of the Seventh and Ninth Symphonies, Beethoven’s Eighth, had it been written by anyone else, would still be considered a masterpiece. If you do not have LCO’s wonderful live recording (or even if you do!) then come and hear it come alive.
