Award-winning Russian choreographer, Vladimir Varnava, brings his new production of Siberian Tales to this tour. The European premiere is an evocative work, a story of magic and love set deep in the Copper Mountains to ignite the imagination of the audience with spell binding contemporary dance. This ballet is performed to the music of composer Alexksandra Pakhmytova, a highly acclaimed living Russian composer, a student of Vissarion Shebalin, and this music forms part of her famous Russian Suite. An intriguing opportunity for all music lovers.
The sparkling classical ballet Paquita is a must for all ballet fans, and is famous as a showcase of Russian technique, with the glittering music of Minkus and the gorgeous choreography of Marius Petipa. It is a glorious harmony of beautiful music set to the aristocratic choreography of Petipa at a spectacular wedding where the guests almost outshine the bride and groom.
The performance will be accompanied by the Orchestra of St Paul’s, a dynamic and exciting professional chamber orchestra resident at the famous Actors’ Church in Covent Garden, under the baton of conductor Ben Palmer.
