A Romantic opera in 3 acts. The wonderful overture is well known, but this autumn New Sussex Opera provides a rare chance to see the complete opera, sung in the original English, containing some of Weber’s most delightful music.

Set in a fairy-tale land, the story is a sequel to Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Oberon, King of the Fairies, guides Sir Huon of Bordeaux on his epic quest to seek the hand in marriage of the beautiful Reiza, daughter of the Caliph of Baghdad.
