‘Tenor Madness’ is Andy Panayi’s tribute to the great Sonny Rollins, a jazz legend, the last man standing of the great innovators of the Fifties, a survivor in a world where so many huge talents were wasted and lost.

Andy Panayi, who leads this Rollins tribute, is an exceptionally gifted jazz musicians, skilled in performance, composition and arranging. He plays all the flutes and all the saxophones and currently leads his own groups, both jazz and classical. He also writes commissioned works as well as compositions and arrangements for his own ensembles. One of the best jazz flute and saxophone players with a wide range of experience in the many styles of the genre, Andy has worked with many stars in the music business from Jessie Norman to Cleo Laine, Freddie Hubbard to Wynton Marsalis, Phil Woods to John Dankworth; the list goes on. Currently a lecturer in Jazz Saxophone at the Birmingham Conservatoire and Royal Academy of Music, and in Jazz and Classical Flute at the Royal College of Music in London.
