“Sarah Vaughan meets Jimi Hendrix…” Born and raised in London, and with music in her genes, Deelee’s music can be described as a mix of blues, folk and soul and jazz. Her vocal delivery is one which embodies that velvety and sinuous richness, underpinned by an infectious melismatic quality to her emotive vocal nuances. She has a unique sound of her own that is eclectic, versatile and soulful, as she injects every ounce of emotion and energy into every performance she delivers.

She is the resident singer at Renato D’Aiello’s Acoustic Jazz Lounge which takes place at Ronnie Scott’s Upstairs. She has performed to full houses at Pizza Express Jazz Club, Dean Street (paying tribute to the great Horace Silver, with a line-up of musicians including Quentin Collins and Andy Davies on trumpet), at the Swanage Jazz Festival, and at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room last year.

Deelee often captivates listeners through her amazing vocal and precision with words and phrasing, her swooping glissandi and variation of melody, and most notably her unique expression of emotion and intonation through song.

Deelee was selected as one of five finalists for the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition 2016 and travelled to Newark, New Jersey to perform and compete before a panel of prolific judges (Dianne Reeves, Christian McBride, Sheila Jordan, Sheila E. Anderson, and Mark Ruffin) in November. She was selected and chosen as the Sassy Award Grand Prize Winner 2016!

This triumphant success has resulted in her signing a new recording deal with the prestigious Concord Music Group, which promises a gleaming new chapter in her music career and a new album to come in 2017!
