Pinchas Zukerman

The Summer Music Festival continues, with award-winning cellist Amanda Forsyth joining Pinchas Zukerman to perform Brahms’ Double Concerto, the composer’s final work for orchestra. Despite critical reception the work’s popularity has increased with time, and truly comes to life when performed by two exceptional soloists. The concerto is framed by Beethoven’s Overture to his ballet The Creatures of Prometheus, on which the fourth movement of the later Eroica Symphony is based, and Elgar’s ever-popular ‘Enigma’ Variations.

‘Zukerman again seemed the forever-young virtuoso: expressively resourceful, infectiously musical, technically impeccable, effortless. As usual, it was a joy to be in his musical company.’ (Los Angeles Times)
