Gifted with immensely emotional vocals, singer Sara Dowling’s influences are wide and far reaching. She invokes the spirit of Anita O’Day mixed with the souls of Betty Carter and Billie Holiday. Her interpretations of classic ballads leave audiences spell bound as well as the energy and vigour with which she tackles the up tempo standards from the American Song Book.

However, her most recent successes have been exercising her talent as a writer, penning songs for major publishing companies and national advertising campaigns such as the most recent Dulux advert, ‘Paint the Town’. She has recently joined forces with the London Dance Orchestra taking on some Count Basie classics.

Today she returns to her first true love – Jazz – and performs her own interpretations of timeless standards along with some original songs.
