Join the musical athletes of Southbank Sinfonia as we compete in the Musical Olympiad, and along the way discover an incredible world of orchestral music. Featuring classical favourites by Beethoven, Mozart, Prokofiev and Satie, and lots of audience interaction, this is a fun and inspiring way for the whole family to spend a Saturday morning together.

The sprinting clarinets can play hundreds of notes in a minute, while the colossal double basses are the biggest. The beautiful cello has the widest range of notes, but the timpani are definitely the loudest. The only question is, which instrument will win our Musical Olympiad? Join us in May and cheer on your favourite to victory!

From 10.45am come and meet our young musicians and try out their amazing instruments. There will also be free creative activities to get young minds whirring!
