Winners of the Manchester Amateur Choral Competition in 2011, Skolia perform a programme of British choral riches paying homage to the saintly… from Britten’s well beloved Hymn to St Cecilia and Tavener’s Hymn to the Mother of God, to the less well known but glorious settings of the Canticles of St Francis of Assisi, in Richard Blackford’s Mirror of Perfection.

With soloists, baritone Benedict Nelson, hailed by Rupert Christiansen in the Daily Telegraph as ‘Best Newcomer’ in his Opera Highlights of 2009, and soprano Katherine Manley – ‘striking looks, dramatic flair and spellbinding voice’ (Opera News), and accompanied by Docklands Sinfonia.

‘Depth, expressivity, charisma, perfection. His playing is the ideal every artist searches for.’ (on Leonard Elschenbroich)
