The Temple Church Choir of 12 choir men and 18 boy-choristers shot to prominence with the commission and premiere of John Tavener’s all-night musical vigil The Veil of the Temple. The choir’s home is the historic and beautiful Temple Church in London, 800 years ago the regal chapel to the Knights Templar.

The centrepiece of this festive programme is Britten’s delightful A Ceremony of Carols. Alongside this masterpiece, the Temple Church Choir sings a programme ranging from beautiful settings of Ave Maria by Elgar and Bruckner, and Byrd’s exhilarating Vigilate to contemporary arrangements of traditional carols.
