The C minor Mass and the Solemn Vespers are among the finest of Mozart’s choral works. The Mass, written in celebration of his marriage, is strongly influenced by baroque structure and the musical language of Bach and Handel.
The Vespers settings are richly varied and not always solemn! In both works the composer’s irrepressible exuberance is never far away. The Divertimento is a short early piece for strings.
