Ireland the miniaturist is the focus of this concert that includes some of the composer’s best-loved songs, sung by Roderick Williams, piano solos, played by Maria Marchant and Matthew Hough, and choral songs performed by the Addison Singers. The actor Timothy West will read from Ireland’s letters and writings and also recites ‘Annabel Lee’, a curiosity dating from 1910 that sets a text by Edgar Allan Poe for speaking voice and piano.

From 5pm a free Choral Evensong featuring music by Ireland and Stanford takes place at Holy Trinity, Sloane Square.
