Outstanding young British pianist and composer Oliver Poole returns to Cadogan Hall to perform an exciting show on behalf of his Charity Siberian Appeal.

“Phenomenal talent belies pianist’s age – a Master of the Piano.” (BBC)

Winner of 11 national competitions, Oliver Poole has performed, both solo and with orchestra, in venues and festivals around the world. According to his critics, his ‘stage presence, charisma, open communication with the auditorium, backed by his talent for improvisation and astonishing technique, have made him a desirable performer of unique entertaining talent.’ Currently a Founders’ Scholar at the Royal College of Music, Oliver was the youngest ever winner (twice) of an EPTA trophy, performed his first concerto with orchestra aged eight, was broadcast live over Europe aged fifteen, gave the first live performance of Rubenstein’s Piano Concerto with the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra in Russia in over eighty years and recently debuted his work (Prelude for Solo Piano) for a stage production at the Maly Drama theatre in St Petersburg. He enjoys taking an interactive stance with his audiences, often incorporating their participation into his performances.

Oliver will be playing Bach’s iconic yet rarely performed Goldberg Variations (a recent performance in the USA prompted a critic’s review: “Outstanding – Gould would have been pleased.”) plus famous works by Rachmaninov, Gershwin and Liszt.

He will also be world premiering the Steingraeber-Phoenix E272, a state of the art carbon fibre-based piano, instrument of choice at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Royal wedding, hailed by Audio Emporium USA as ‘the best piano sound ever put on CD’. This British-led, next generation instrument represents the most exciting and ground breaking achievements to date in piano technology.

The concert will be benefiting Siberian Appeal, a British-registed charity Oliver founded in 2008 after performing in the beautiful (and very cold) Siberia. The charity raises funds and awareness for young patients, badly in need of proper and adequate treatment at the Altai Regional Children’s Hospital in Barnaul and enables the hospital to re-equip its many dilapidated wards. Siberian Appeal is a unique charity – it is one of the few western organisations tackling child healthcare problems in remote Russia.

World acclaimed opera superstar Angela Gheorghiu and Poet Lord Gawain Douglas support Siberian Appeal as Patrons. Full details can be found on www.siberianappeal.com.

Oliver is an exclusive artist of Gosconcert.
