Sir Roger Norrington has changed the very way we hear the music of the classical period and as he enters his ninth decade, his performances are as revelatory as ever. He celebrates his 80th birthday this year by taking his Zurich Chamber Orchestra on a European tour, conducting Mozart’s first and last symphonies.
The orchestra is joined by the award-winning American pianist Jonathan Biss, appearing for the first time at Cadogan Hall to perform Mozart’s most melodic and eloquent piano concerto, whose famous, sublime slow movement was used in the film Elvira Madigan.
