In 1952 the doors opened to a very special club in London that would have a major influence on generations of bands and fans: Jeffery Kruger’s legendary Flamingo Club. The venue became home to some of the world’s biggest names in Jazz, R&B and rock including Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, The Modern Jazz Quartet, Otis Redding, The Animals, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison’s Them, Jimi Hendrix, Georgie Fame and the Blueflames, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, The Who and countless others.
Now, one of the most evocative clubs in music history is celebrated by the artists who made it so famous. Maximum Rhythm ‘N’ Blues – A Night At The Flamingo features an all-star line up of Alan Price whose hits include House of the Rising Sun, I Put a Spell on You and The House That Jack Built) with Zoot Money, Bobby Tench, Chris Farlowe whose hits include Out of Time and Handbags and Gladrags and Maggie Bell whose album Queen of the Night had her hailed at the time as the British Janis Joplin
