J S Bach: St John Passion (sung in German)
Nearly 300 years after its première, Bach’s St John Passion remains one of the most gripping musical depictions of the events of Holy Week from the betrayal and capture of Jesus to his crucifixion and death. One of London’s finest amateur choirs, Goldsmiths Choral Union, presents this highly dramatic and emotional work in its original German and with a superb solo cast and authentic instrumental forces.
