Quartet Pro Musica is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year. Since its formation in 1955 there have been three changes of personnel, but Patrick Halling has remained as their leader during the entire span of 55 years.
In this concert, they will be playing Purcell’s Chacony in G minor, the first performance of ‘Tara’s Brooch’, a new Quartet composed by John Cameron, and the Debussy 1st quatuor Op 10 in G Minor.
John Cameron - Recently received an Emmy nomination for his score for Path to 9/11 (with Harvey Keitel); other concert output includes Cantata, Missa Celtica - written for Celtic soloists, the Choir of New College Oxford and the English Chamber Orchestra. He is currently working with José Carreras on a recording project in Vienna.
Chöe Wright - attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In 2002 Chöe auditioned alongside 1000s of others and won the role of Musetta in movie director Baz Luhrmann's Broadway Production of La Bohème. For her performance as Musetta, Chöe was awarded a TONY honour, an Ovation Award and was recognised as an Outstanding Artist of 2002-2003 by the American Drama League.
Prior to this she has sung many roles including Mimi (La Bohème) Countess (Marriage of Figaro) where, The Merry Widow, Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte) Marguerite (Faust) Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) and First Lady (Magic Flute) with Opera Holland Park, Wexford Festival Opera, Pavilion Opera, Garden Opera and at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Buxton.
James Lonsdale - Has performed with the prestigious Grange Park Opera, and has sung roles with Opera Anywhere, Oxford Touring Opera, O4 opera, the Letcombe Singers as well as having given many oratorio concerts.
