To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Malaysian independence the British Malaysian Society with the London Sinfonietta presents Musical Journeys - Golden Anniversary Concert for Malaysia – 1957-2007. This concert celebrates the close musical links between Malaysia and England.
World Premiere of Britten’s Sketch for Malaya (1956) and a specially commissioned piano concerto by Malaysia’s Tazul Izan Tajudin, featuring Bobby Chen as soloist, with Britten’s early Sinfonietta No 1 and Serenade for Tenor Horn and Strings with the London Sinfonietta.
