Six finalists will compete for top prizes. Presented by Pianist Magazine and Yamaha in association with Classic FM, theJazz and Jazzwise.

Finalists will perform pieces of their own choice not exceeding 15 minutes in duration. The judges will announce the winners at the end of the evening.

Prizes: The Classical winner will appear with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in 2008 and the Jazz winner will play alongside Julian Joseph at a top London jazz venue.

This exciting competition, which runs every two years, is the first ever of its kind in the UK. It is open exclusively to the talented amateur pianist over the age of 30. There are two categories – Classical and Jazz – with one winner from each. There is also an Audience Favourite prize, where the audience gets to vote for their favourite pianist. Finalists will appear in front of a distinguished jury: Jamie Cullum, Julian Joseph, Piers Lane, Noriko Ogawa, Jason Rebello, Martin Roscoe, Gwilym Simcock and Barry Wordsworth. Classic FM’s Simon Bates hosts the evening.
