António Zambujo sings Chico Buarque

La Linea 2017

Venue: Cadogan Hall

António Zambujo is the biggest star in Portugal’s contemporary music firmament. A singer with a singular ability to captivate an audience, he has carved out a distinct musical path between Fado and the traditional music of Alentejo.

The rhythmic influence of Brazilian popular music has also played a key role in his work. This sound comes to full fruition in his latest album, a tribute to the songs of Chico Buarque, one of Brazil’s greatest singer-songwriters. The concert will also include favourites from Zambujo’s earlier albums.

“To my ears, Zambujo is one of the best singers in the world today.” (Caetano Veloso)

_ “Charming and delicate, each word is sung as if the world’s most beautiful woman is Zambujo’s only audience.”_ (Songlines)

Part of La Linea, the London Latin Music Festival.
