The well-known Serbian singer and songwriter Djordje Balašević began his career 1977 as a member of the band Žetva, which he later left and instead established the pop-rock band Rani Mraz. After two successful albums the band was dissolved and Balašević started his solo career. His music, which in the beginning consisted of rock and pop, today also involves chansons and folk music. His texts are often humorous but also involve political and social themes.
The London performance is called Kalendar mog detinjstva. The concert begins at 6pm and last three and a half hours, without any breaks. In one part of the concert Balašević will tell anecdotes about his childhood, while performing music in the other part. Balašević will be performing together with the pianist Alexandar Dujin.
