Merry really is the word for Richard Strauss’s rarely performed ‘Merry Workshop’, a typically fragrant, tuneful and sometimes beautifully indulgent piece – the ideal back to work antidote. Hearing LCO’s very fine wind section play this will surely be a season highlight.
