Magma on stage at 8pm.
Widely considered as musically adventurous and imaginative, MAGMA were first founded in Paris, France in 1969 by drummer Christian Vander.
MAGMA’s style is heavily influenced by jazz and 20th century classical music which saw the band develop a unique style of music within the progressive rock genre called Zeuhl.
Vander invented a constructed language, Kobaïan, in which most lyrics are sung. In the course of their first album, the band tells the story of a group of people fleeing a doomed Earth to settle on the planet Kobaïa. Their later albums tell different stories set in more ancient times, however the Kobaïan language remains an integral part of the music, even today.
Since their debut album MAGMA have been producing music, gaining an international reputation throughout Europe, Japan and the USA which has seen their music emulated by numerous followers from all over the world.
Three generations of fans are now scrambling for entry to their international concerts making this special evening with MAGMA unmissable. Their London show is in the midst of a full tour of Europe, Canada and Asia.
