Musicians from the Royal College of Music take up residence at Cadogan Hall this summer, showcasing a variety of repertoire, including galant music of the late Baroque, music by Ravel and Schubert, works based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and an unmissable ensemble workshop with celebrated violinist Pinchas Zukerman.
The concert opens with a brand new composition by RCM composer Maeve McCarthy, before delving into musical interpretations of Ophelia, Shakespeare’s tragic heroine. Schubert’s powerful Quartettsatz is also performed, a piece which was originally part of an unfinished quartet by the composer.
