After a busy concert series in Japan, violinist Taro Hakase returns to Cadogan Hall for an early Valentine’s evening of romantic tangos.
Taro has not played in Britain since the moving charity concert of March 2012, organized by Taro to mark the first anniversary of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The concert raised over £34,000 for the Ashinaga Charity in Japan, thanks to your support. This charity will be using the money to help with the lives of those children who were orphaned by the tsunami of 2011.
This time Taro’s focus is on love and romance, as befits a concert at this time of year. Amongst the pieces he will be playing are some of Piazzolla’s best known works – The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, Libertango, and Adios Nonino, as well as Taro’s own compositions. There is something for everyone in the programme!
He is joined on stage with his long term accompanist Maciej Janas, Tim Lowe on cello and Milos Milivojevic on accordion.
