Conducted by Jerry Junkin, the University of Texas Wind Ensemble is one of the United States’ elite wind bands. Active in commissioning new music since 1988, the group has offered world premiere performances of works by composers such as John Corigliano, Michael Daugherty, Donald Grantham, David Maslanka, Dan Welcher, and John Mackey.

This summer, the University of Texas Wind Ensemble embarks on a world tour that reaches three continents over four weeks with stops in Honolulu, Okazaki City (Japan), Tokyo, Taipei, Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen (China), Beijing, celebrating the conclusion of their tour with a concert here in London.

Commissioned by the University of Texas Band in celebration of the centennial of the Butler School of Music.
